To The Residents of Churchill County :

The Oasis Stampede and Country Fair is a family friendly event and the best part it's FREE. The event came about by chance. Three groups, The Country Fair Association, Churchill County 4-H Extravaganza and The Oasis Stampede Mule and Donkey Show were all looking to spice up their events and they were holding shows on different weekends. So the decision was made to join forces and create a one of a kind free event.

This year the Mule and Donkey show is being replaced with a Ranch Hand Rodeo on Saturday, July 31 st and Sunday, August 1 st . These three organizations pride themselves on being proud of the local agriculture heritage of Churchill County . While supporting local and Nevada , the event hosts a number of local farmers, high quality craft vendors and local businesses and community organizations with booths. A number of local food vendors will be set up offering wonderful treats of all kinds. Another new event at the fair this year the “A Touch of Class Draft Horse Show on Friday Night” Come out and watch the big horse perform in the arena.

The County Fair has a photo show, quilts, sewing, flowers, arts and crafts, baking, woodworking, vegetables and many other entry possibilities. The Premium Book is available on this site or at the Churchill Co. Library, LVEA Office and UNR Cooperative Extension Office.

The Churchill County 4-H Extravaganza gives the local 4-H youth a place to show off what they have accomplished though out year. There will be a variety of Livestock Exhibits, a number of animal shows including a Jackpot and Breeding Show, a Dairy Show and Rabbit and Poultry Show. The youth will also be doing Presentation and demonstration throughout the Fair. The local 4-H members will be on site to speak about and show off their hard work.

Because the event is free all the groups obtain funds from local government, businesses and grants. The Oasis Stampede and Country Fair are solely run by volunteers. There are a large number of people who have been dedicating many hours to the planning execution of this event.
